Beef Canoed Marrow Bone

one bone
$18.70 /lb.
Avg. 9.6 oz.

Bone marrow is a healthy and nutritious food source rich in vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats, potentially supporting joint health, immune function, and skin vitality, but should be consumed in moderation due to its high fat content. It has a rich, buttery flavor and can be enjoyed in various dishes, like in soups, or eaten straight off the bone.
100% grass-fed beef bone marrow is noted for potentially superior quality and health benefits.

Why does Farmstead Acres offer bone marrow? Using the whole animal, including bone marrow, can help reduce food waste and promote sustainability.

Our Angus cows are raised on open pasture.

They are 100% grass-fed and finished, meaning they only eat a natural grass diet and what they forage on pasture. In the colder months, in our barn, they have pesticide-free hay cut from our land, and supplemental minerals, (free choice kelp, Redmond salt - an ideal supplement for beef cattle containing a wide range of natural trace minerals, including calcium, copper, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, and zinc, in a natural, balanced form.) Our cows are NEVER supplemented with grain feed. Our goal is to raise the healthiest and most stress-free animals possible.

You’ll taste the difference because our beef comes from animals that are chemical-free, antibiotic-free, hormone-free, and GMO-free. We routinely watch and test them for their health.

Our animals are treated with respect.

Our cows spend almost all of their time at pasture, eating fresh grass when in season with rotational grazing to regenerate soil life and sequester tons of carbon back into the soil. Our greenest and most dense grass is where the cows have fertilized it! They exercise in their personal home gym on our 100 acre farmland in scenic Lancaster County.

A word about Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs)

CAFOs, where most meat comes from, have large numbers of animals crowded into a confined space, resulting in the concentration of manure in a small area. The large amounts of animal waste from CAFOs present a risk to water quality, aquatic ecosystems and air quality which means risks to your health. Our way of farming presents few of the environmental and health risks associated with CAFOs. Our beef is more expensive because of our healthy farming methods. You'll see and taste the difference.
